Zenith Computers Unveils Reasonably Priced Laptop Computers

The three latest additions include the 'Zenith Admiral' with a 14.1-inches WXGA wide TFT display, the 'Zenith Director' with a 15.4-inches wide-screen display and the 'Zenith Presidio' with a 12.1-inches XGA wide-screen display.

The company stated that regardless of the reasonable costs, there has been no compromise on the software package.

The fresh laptops range is based on Intel Pentium Dual Core processor along with Microsoft Vista Starter Edition. The lightweight NBs assure longer battery life, and enhanced wireless performance. They carry an 80GB hard disk drive, and 256 MB DDR2 533/667 MHz of memory.

The 'Presidio,' which is the costliest among the three, weighs around 1.75 kg, and comes with an inbuilt 4-in-1 card reader, HD audio, and 2 stereo speaker systems. Clients retain the alternative to upgrade from Vista Starter Edition to the Basic Edition by paying the difference. Lenovo has also launched low cost notebooks recently. The market for laptops in India is growing and many companies are entering the market with low-cost laptops. The target is desktop user looking for mobility solutions. Dell has also announced many models in low cost segment recently.

Another reason for decline in prices could be decline in valuations of US dollar. In US markets, one can easily grab a nice laptop with good features for $ 1000. At current dollar price, this will be around Rs 40,000. The prices for RAM has decreased recently and the many providers are offering free upgrade to 512 or 1 GB RAM.

Zenith’s 'Director', 'Admiral', and 'Presidio' come with price labels of Rs 24,990, Rs 27,990, and Rs 28,490 correspondingly, together with on-site warranty service.
